Examples of Lenses

Medical/Health Lens: Viewing the world through their medical experiences relating to the body and how it functions. What is healthy? Diet, Body Function, Quality of Life, Illness, etc.

Cultural Lens: Viewing the world based on experiences through home life, cultural practices, friends, surroundings, religion, beliefs, traditions, etc.

Technological Lens: Viewing the world based on technological advancement, how technology works, etc.

Reading & Writing Lens: Viewing the world through written language and spoken language. Grammar, spelling, language, reading, information, poetry, literature, etc.

Financial Lens: Viewing the world through finance, monetary gain, bills, loans, debt, credit, cost, money, financial plans, etc.

Emotional Lens: Viewing and reacting to the world based on feelings and emotions. What feelings are evoked by different experiences?

Art Lens: Viewing and reacting to the world based on imagery, art, aesthetics, big ideas, concepts, and asking questions like: what art could be made from my experiences that adds to the conversation of art? What materials can I use to make an image? How can I communicate an idea through a sculpture, photo, video series, painting, drawing, etc.
